Before Health Can Hold is your essential guide to understanding the real reasons your health habits never last.

This workshop gets beneath the surface of what’s really happening  so you can finally understand why no plan, reset, or burst of willpower has worked long-term.

It’s for the person who wants better health, more energy, more clarity, and confidence in your body… but keeps swinging between all-or-nothing cycles, monday resets and new health challenges.... And wondering why it never seems to last.

What You Will Learn

  • Two are patterns, one is a state and one is a subconscious belief.

  • You’ll learn what’s really going on subconsciously. As long as you’re only dealing with the presenting issue (eg feeling tired and not wanting to go to the gym or promising you’ll eat better from Monday), it’s very difficult to create change. 

    We go to the root - what’s really happening beneath the surface that keeps you stuck in these cycles and stops you from building health habits that hold.

  • You’ll learn to identify much earlier when patterns are playing out in real time, so you can  make different choices sooner. 

    Whether it's a bad day at work that leads to skipping the gym and grabbing ice-cream on the way home, or buying another pair of Lululemon leggings because ‘this time will be different’ - knowing how your patterns play out is life changing to make different choices.

  • You’ll learn why all the things you’ve tried - the plans, the resets, the all-or-nothing efforts haven’t actually worked long term.

    You’ll learn what’s happening physiologically, how your nervous system responds to pressure, and what your subconscious actually believes is possible for you. If your body doesn’t feel safe or if deep down you don’t believe you’re someone who follows through, you’ll keep slipping back into old patterns even with the best intentions.

    This part of the training gives you language and understanding for why you’ve felt stuck, even when part of you has been trying really hard.

  • This workshop is designed to help you recognise and understand why you haven’t been able to implement habits that stick.

    You’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of your patterns, the language to name them, and tools to start making different choices in the moment.

Introduction to a New Way of Doing Things

While the focus of this training is building awareness why you haven’t been able to create health habits that hold (you can’t change what you don’t yet see), it’s hard to talk about why without also touching on how to shift it.

You’ll be introduced to key concepts I teach inside Health That Holds, my course on how to implement health habits in a way that works with your beliefs, your patterns, your body and your schedule (... truly, your whole life).

There’s no pressure to join HTH - this is a complete, standalone workshop.

But I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t show you what’s possible beyond just understanding why change has felt so hard  and what it looks like to actually build health that holds.

Before working with Sarah, I had a really rigid and toxic mindset around the gym and doing physical exercise regularly. I saw it mainly as a tool for chasing physical results driven by what I thought I should look like. It left me feeling disconnected and frustrated, like I was constantly falling short. I am normally very headstrong and can work through issues but I realised I needed extra assistance with this. What stood out immediately was how well Sarah could read me, understand the core issue and how to work through it. She picked up on things I couldn’t put into words and things started shifting quickly.

Sarah helped me change how I saw movement and the gym - no longer as punishment or a means to an image, but as something that supports my mental wellbeing and helps me feel strong and grounded. That shift made everything feel lighter and more sustainable. This was a couple of years ago and I still go to the gym regularly and have had significant physical and mental shifts. The Woman Behind the Workshop

I’m Sarah Scully-Leaf, a hypnotherapist and trauma-informed breathwork & somatic practitioner, living in Bali… and someone who’s lived the exact patterns I now teach.

I was a personal trainer who left the fitness industry to become a lawyer… and in that process I couldn’t understand why I kept falling off the wagon. I knew what to do but I just couldn’t seem to keep following through. During my career as a lawyer I gained 20 kilos, stayed up till 2am, stopped moving my body, ate what I wanted (and called it intuitive eating)... and kept promising myself “next week will be different.”

This workshop is everything I wish I had back then.

Not more information. But a deeper understanding of why I was stuck - the unconscious patterns, the subconscious beliefs, my nervous system’s capacity.

Once I learned how to work with my body and subconscious, everything changed. And now, that’s what I teach.

    This workshop is about the real reasons it’s hard for you to stick to any health habits long-term - most of which are likely unconscious right now.

    You may have fitness or body composition goals and this workshop works beautifully alongside those. It helps you understand why you’re struggling through on the habits that get you there.

  • Health that Holds is a self-paced course with my full framework on how to implement health habits. It includes exactly what to do to build any health habit for life, how to adjust it to your life, a self-monitoring plan, and subconscious reprogramming to shift your identity to a health person.

    Before Health Can Hold is a step before that - it’s understanding why you’ve been unable to create healthy habits. It’s a 75 minute workshop that’s designed to build your awareness so you know what your deeper blocks actually are.

    The two work beautifully together; awareness into action. You’ll learn a little about Health That Holds inside the workshop (it’s hard to teach the why without the next step of how to shift it!), but there’s zero obligation to join.
